How the AI Coach works
The AI Coach is the assistant that reads your clips, comments on your drills, and helps you adjust your weekly plan. Here's what it actually does (and doesn't) under the hood.
What it can see
- The clip you just uploaded (one rep at a time)
- The drill you're working on — including its coaching points and the rep target
- Your recent MyWork notes for the same drill ("still tough", "felt better today")
- Your age band, level, and dominant foot from your profile
It uses this to ground feedback in your context, not just generic advice.
What it can't see
- Other players' clips
- Anything you haven't shared with it (private notes you didn't link to a drill)
- The real world — angles, lighting, and a single camera are all it has, so framing matters (see How to film a good clip).
Why feedback gets better over time
- Every drill you finish + every note you log gives the AI more context about you.
- After 3–4 sessions on the same drill, the AI starts referencing your own past notes ("you said your plant foot felt off last week — looks better here").
- That's why one-and-done clips give shallow feedback and consistent training gives deep feedback.
Personas
You can pick a coach persona in Account & Settings — encouraging, blunt, technical, or kid-friendly. It only changes the tone of the feedback, not the content.
What the AI Coach won't do
- Diagnose injuries or pain — see a real person for that.
- Promise scouting outcomes or pro contracts.
- Replace a human coach for tactical or psychological work.
It's a training assistant. Use it that way and it's powerful.
