5-10 min Group 1 soccer ball, 4 cones, spare balls

Coach Carter
A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Complete the full passing sequence with high ball speed and fluid player movement without the ball stopping.
Setup
Place 4 cones in a 'Y' shape with 10-15 yards between the base, the junction (pivot), and the two arms. Divide players into three groups at the base and the two top arms.
Drill Instructions
1. Base player passes to the pivot at the junction. 2. Pivot plays a one-touch drop pass back to the base. 3. Base player plays a long ball to one of the arms. 4. Pivot checks toward the arm to receive a pass and lays it off for the arm player to run onto. 5. Arm player dribbles or passes back to the base line and players rotate positions.
Coach Tip
Communicate with your eyes and hands to show exactly where you want the ball played.
Avoid
Avoid standing flat-footed; always be on your toes ready to 'check' toward or away from the ball.
