A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Keep the ball close during the turn and explode with speed immediately after the cut.
Setup
Place 6-8 cones in a zig-zag pattern, each 5 yards apart at a 45-degree angle.
Drill Instructions
1. Dribble toward the first cone with speed. 2. Use a sharp 'Outside Foot Cut' to redirect the ball toward the next cone. 3. Accelerate between cones and repeat the cut using the opposite foot at the next marker.
Coach Tip
Get your plant foot next to the ball so you can chop down and across the ball with your pinky toe.
Avoid
Taking wide, looping turns around the cone instead of sharp, diagonal cuts.
