A short spoken walk-through of this drill.

Goal
Defenders work as a pair to prevent a shot on goal and win possession back, while attackers aim to exploit gaps through quick ball movement.
Setup
Create a 15x15 yard grid. Place two mini goals on the defenders' end line and a cone gate in the center of the attackers' end line. Defenders start by goals; attackers at the gate.
Drill Instructions
1. A defender passes the ball across to one of the two attackers to start play. 2. The defender who passed quickly closes down the ball carrier (Pressure). 3. The second defender drops slightly behind and to the side to support (Cover). 4. Attackers try to score in either mini goal. 5. If defenders win the ball, they must dribble through the center gate to score.
Coach Tip
The covering defender should stay at a 45-degree angle behind the pressure defender to 'step in' if their partner is clinicaly beaten.
Avoid
Flat defending where both players stand in a straight line, making it easy for one pass to beat both.
