A short spoken walk-through of this drill.

Goal
Execute a clean, purposeful first touch that completely clears the square with a single contact.
Setup
Create a 3x3 yard square with 4 cones. Player A stands 5 yards outside the square; Player B stands inside the square.
Drill Instructions
1. Player A passes the ball firmly to Player B. 2. Player B must use their first touch to take the ball out of a specific side of the square (Left, Right, or Back). 3. Player B dribbles around the cone, returns to the center, and passes back. 4. Switch roles after 10 repetitions.
Coach Tip
Check your shoulder before the ball arrives and keep your hips open to the direction you want to go.
Avoid
Avoid taking the touch with a 'dead foot'; keep your ankles locked and push the ball away from your body.
