Coach Carter
A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Keep the ball moving continuously for 2 minutes without missing a pass or two players ending up at the same cone.
Setup
Place 5-7 cones in a random cluster 5-10 yards apart. Ensure there are 1-2 more cones than there are players. Each player starts standing on a cone.
Drill Instructions
1. The player with the ball passes to any teammate standing on a cone. 2. Immediately after passing, the passer must sprint to an unoccupied cone. 3. The receiver takes two touches and repeats the process, passing to a different teammate and moving to a free cone. 4. Always keep your body open to the ball and shout the receiver's name while passing.
Coach Tip
Keep your head up while moving; don't just look at your feet or the cone you are running toward.
Avoid
Turning your back to the ball or the play while running to a new cone.
