A short spoken walk-through of this drill.

Goal
Execute a clean, directional first touch that beats the defender's angle and win the race to the opposite side.
Setup
Create two 'gates' using two cones each, spaced 3 yards apart. Place the gates 5 yards away from each other.
Drill Instructions
1. Player A passes firmly from their gate to Player B. 2. As the ball travels, Player A sprints to pressure one side of Player B's gate. 3. Player B must take a first touch away from the incoming pressure to the opposite side of the gate. 4. Player B rounds their cone and sprints with the ball to the starting gate before Player A can tag them. 5. Alternate the passer and the receiver.
Coach Tip
Keep your knees bent and stay on your toes; scan the defender's movement just before the ball reaches your feet.
Avoid
Stopping the ball dead under your feet, which allows the defender to trap you.
