A short spoken walk-through of this drill.

Goal
Develop the ability to receive and turn in one fluid motion using both feet.
Setup
Place two cone gates 2 yards wide at 45-degree angles behind the starting position. Player stands 3-4 yards from the wall (or partner).
Drill Instructions
1. Pass the ball firmly against the wall a few times to get a rhythm. 2. After establishing a rhythm, as the ball returns, use your first touch to drive through either the left or right gate. 3. Use different parts of the foot (inside, outside, or sole). 4. Return to center and repeat, alternating the foot you use to receive.
Coach Tip
Check your shoulder before the ball arrives to 'scan' the gate you are about to exit through.
Avoid
Taking multiple small touches to get through the gate; the goal is to clear the gate with a single, purposeful first touch.
