A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Successfully weave through all cones without hitting them and strike the ball into the corner of the goal within two seconds of exiting.
Setup
Place a line of 6 cones 2 feet apart leading toward the goal. Set the final cone 12-15 yards out from the goal at a slight angle.
Drill Instructions
1. Dribble through the cones using quick, small touches (inside/outside of the foot). 2. As you exit the final cone, take one purposeful 'prep touch' toward the goal. 3. Immediately follow through with a shot before the ball stops moving.
Coach Tip
Keep your head up on that final cone exit to spot the goal before you strike.
Avoid
Taking multiple small touches after the cones; the exit touch must be the shooting setup.
Adjust on the fly
Make it easier
Space the cones further apart to allow for larger, slower touches.
Make it harder
Add a time limit or require the finish to be with the non-dominant weak foot.
