Give-and-Go Gate Gauntlet
5-10 minutes Solo, Partner, Group 1 soccer ball, 10 cones (to make 5 gates)

Coach Carter
A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Complete a successful one-two combination through every gate in the grid as quickly as possible without hitting a cone.
Setup
Create a 20x20 yard grid. Set up 5 'gates' (2 cones each, 2 yards wide) scattered randomly at different angles throughout the space.
Drill Instructions
1. Player A passes to Player B through a gate. 2. Immediately after passing, Player A sprints around the outside of the gate. 3. Player B plays a first-touch return pass into the space for Player A to run onto. 4. The pair dribbles toward a new gate and repeats the sequence until all gates are cleared.
Coach Tip
Focus on the weight of the return pass; it should be led into the space where your teammate is running, not behind them. Players receiving the ball back should point to where they want the pass.
Avoid
Avoid standing still and waiting for the ball to come to you after you make the first pass.
