A short spoken walk-through of this drill.

Goal
Successfully transition the ball between grids after reaching the pass target without losing possession.
Setup
Create two 10x10 yard grids side-by-side sharing a middle line. Place 3 attackers and 1 defender in the first grid.
Drill Instructions
1. The 3 attackers keep possession against 1 defender in Grid A. 2. After completing 5-8 consecutive passes, one attacker must sprint into the empty Grid B. 3. The ball must be passed to the player in Grid B to move the play. 4. All players then migrate to Grid B to continue 3v1 possession and repeat.
Coach Tip
Look for the 'trigger'—as soon as the pass count is hit, one player must explode into the new space.
Avoid
Passing the ball into the empty grid before a teammate has actually arrived there to receive it.
