A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Maintain a high-tempo rhythm with crisp, one-touch passing and explosive movement to the new receiving line.
Setup
Create a 10x10 yard square with cones. Place one player at each cone. Place an extra player at the starting cone (Cone A) to keep the rotation fluid.
Drill Instructions
1. Player A passes to Player B. 2. Player B performs a one-touch drop pass back to Player A. 3. Player B immediately shifts to the outside of their cone. 4. Player A plays a one-touch through ball to Player B's new position. 5. Player A moves to follow their pass to B's original spot. 6. Player B repeats the sequence with Player C, and so on around the square.
Coach Tip
Check your shoulders before receiving the ball and try to play with your 'away' foot to speed up the play.
Avoid
Avoid flat-footedness; players should be on their toes and moving before the ball even reaches them.
