A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Complete the shuttle circuit while maintaining a tight stop at each cone and high-speed control during the dribble phases.
Setup
Place 3 cones in a straight line, each 10 yards apart. Start with the ball at the first cone.
Drill Instructions
1. Dribble at top speed to the second cone and stop the ball dead next to it. 2. Sprint back to the start line without the ball, then sprint back to the ball. 3. Turn with the ball and dribble back to the starting line and perform a turn. 4. Dribble at speed to the third cone, stop the ball, sprint back to the start, and then return to the ball. 4. Once the final cone is reached, perform a turn with the ball and dribble at full speed back to the starting line.
Coach Tip
Use smaller, frequent touches while dribbling so the ball stays close enough to stop instantly at the cone.
Avoid
Letting the ball roll past the cone or slowing down your sprint before you reach the start line.
