A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Earn 1 point for every sequence where all 4 players on the attacking team touch the ball without a turnover.
Setup
Create a 30x20 yard rectangle. One team of 4 starts inside the grid (defenders). Another team of 4 starts on the outside edges. Place one neutral in the center and two neutrals on the end lines.
Drill Instructions
1. The attacking team of 4 works with the 3 neutrals to keep the ball away from the 4 defenders. 2. The attacking team and neutrals can move freely to create passing lanes. 3. If defenders win the ball, they immediately become the attackers, and the team that lost it moves to the center to defend.
Coach Tip
Body shape is key; always try to receive the ball across your body so you can see the whole field.
Avoid
Standing flat-footed on the lines; stay active and adjust your position as the ball moves.
