A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Be the first team to reach 10 points by maintaining composure and finding open space.
Setup
Create a 20x30 yard grid. Divide players into two even teams (e.g., 4v4 or 5v5).
Drill Instructions
1. Teams compete to keep possession within the grid. 2. A team earns 1 point for completing 5 consecutive passes. 3. If they reach 5 passes, they can try for another 5 immediately to earn a 2-point bonus (3 points total). 4. If the ball is intercepted or goes out, the count resets.
Coach Tip
Keep your head up before receiving the ball so you already know your next pass.
Avoid
Standing still after passing; always move to a new angle to support the player on the ball.
