A short spoken walk-through of this drill.
Goal
Score as many goals as possible. Teams with a numerical advantage must complete at least one pass before shooting.
Setup
Place cones at the top of the grid facing a large goal. Organize three teams of three. Every player starts with a ball.
Drill Instructions
1. Player 1 starts with a breakaway shot on goal. 2. Immediately after, a player from the opposing team enters, creating a 1v1 against Player 1. 3. When that play ends, another player enters to make it a 2v1. 4. Continue adding players after each play to create a 2v2, 3v2, and finally a 3v3 scenario.
Coach Tip
Keep the tempo high; the next player should enter the moment the previous ball is dead.
Avoid
Standing still after a shot; players must instantly transition to defending the incoming attacker.
